Karol Bagh.. saturday, 27th june I was last there on my bday last year, and then again on last saturday. Squeaky, Tau and myself ( tau calls me saand, janwar etc, Squeaky calls me Barney ) were in gaffar market to get tau's IPhone repaired. It was next to the Karol Bagh metro station and the market. Interesting little place having a fab mix of genuine, fake, original and repaired mobile sets and all gadgets related to mobile phones and computers. we spent more than 1 1/2 hours there wandering around, checking out the shops, accessories, people who came there. the weather was hot and dry. typical Indian Summer in delhi. warm breeze making any hope for a cool shade under the trees or the building a distant thought. The shops were small and cramped creaking under the weight of the numerous goods from all parts of the world ( or so it seemed ) , surds and surdnis of so many sizes but more or less the same round shape. kids and adults alike. Me trying to keep cool as much as possible. there's no way one can accurately explain and describe the arrangements of the shops. every thing was just about every where.. a chaos , an undefined sense of being unorganized, yet things were in control, people knew where to go and what to do, onlookers, shop keepers, oglers, ladies, kids, beggars, pawn brokers, thieves, snacks counters.. the mess and maze of electricity wires, which one came from where and which one went where.. the over congested parking lot, the car care takers demanding the car keys and parking the cars to perfection without a scratch. the children working there oblivious of their present and future. the people who used the children as slaves to make their jobs easy at a pittance of a cost. perhaps even they didnt know that. it was just amazing how we work , inspite of nothing being there to make it work. This is the real India.
